
Actress/activist Daryl Hannah is scheduled to speak at the fifth annual Southern California Energy Summit at 1:30 p.m. today in Palm Springs, and event spokesman said. She's billed as one of five keynote speakers at the event.
Admission to the Summit is $75 and tickets are available at the venue, Palm Springs Convention Center, 277 N. Avenida Caballeros, summit spokesman Josh Zipperman said.
The theme of the conference, which concludes at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 4, is "Powering a Regional Clean Energy Economy." The summit schedule includes ducational sessions, keynote presentations, panel discussions and an exhibit hall for green technologies and vehicles, according to organizers.
Scheduled speaker Rep. Raul Ruiz, D-Palm Desert, was unable to appear, Zipperman said Friday morning. Kevin Kelly, general manager of Imperial Irrigation District, was expected to fill Ruiz' role.
