
One person was wounded in a shooting in Coachella on Saturday and deputies were seeking more information, sheriff's officials said.
The shooting was reported at 1:45 a.m. Oct. 19 in the area of 4th Street and Vine Avenue, Sgt. Steve DaSilva of the sheriff's Thermal Station said in a statement.
"Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound," DaSilva said. "Investigation revealed there was a confrontation involving several males in the street at the location."
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, DaSilva said.
"Thermal Station investigators responded and assumed the investigation," DaSilva said. "There is no suspect information at this time.
