Drugs, Cash, Firearm Found In La Quinta Traffic Stop: Cops

Sheriff's officials say two people were arrested after the discovery.

LA QUINTA, CA — Two Desert Hot Springs residents allegedly found with drugs, a large sum of money and a firearm during a traffic stop in La Quinta were released Wednesday on bail.

Jorge Arnold Ochoa, a 27-year-old probationer, and Clarissa Lozano Orosco, 28, were arrested after deputies pulled over their vehicle just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Eisenhower Drive and Calle Ensenada, Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Mike Vasquez said.

Ochoa and Orosco were booked into the Indio Jail around 2:30 this morning on suspicion of felony possession of narcotics over one ounce with the intent to sell. Ochoa was additionally booked suspicion of violating probation and felony possession of a firearm, jail records show.

Ochoa and Orosco posted bail amounts of $50,000 and $30,000, respectively, and both due in court on April 10.
