RIVERSIDE, CA — The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was already rocking Saturday morning, but not for the usual reasons. A 3.8 magnitude temblor rattled the Inland Empire Saturday, especially near Coachella where throngs of festival goers are gathered.

The earthquake hit at 9:08 a.m. Its epicenter was 20 miles southeast of Coachella, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It struck at a depth of about 7 miles.

The shaking was felt as far east as Arizona, in Chula Vista to the south and North Hollywood to the northwest.
