Eastbound 10 Freeway Closes Due To Overturned Big Rig In Desert
The freeway reopened late Thursday morning.

CHIRIACO SUMMIT, CA — Interstate 10 near Chiriaco Summit was closed Thursday morning due to an overturned semi.
A SigAlert was issued at Dillon Road — for both directions of the freeway — at approximately 7:30 a.m.
California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres said the truck-tractor combination overturned onto its side and was blocking all eastbound lanes.

No injuries were reported.
As of 8:48 a.m., one lane of traffic was open on the westbound side of the freeway.

During the incident, all traffic was diverted onto southbound state Route 86.
It's not clear what caused the rig to overturn. A wind advisory was in effect across the desert through noon Thursday. Wind gusts in the area were forecast to reach 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
The CHP is investigating the crash cause.
