Fire Damages Indio Mansion

Winds of five to 10 miles per hour fueled a blaze Thursday morning that heavily damaged a luxury home in Indio valued at $2.25 million.

The blaze was reported about 1:10 a.m. at the residence in the 51600 block of Rolling Green Court, Riverside County fire spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.

The first arriving units reported heavy smoke billowing from the unoccupied, 2,500-square-foot house. The fire was contained at 5:09 a.m. and no injuries were reported.

Fire officials estimated the damage at $750,000, and the value of the portion that was saved at $1.5 million, Hagemann said.
