
Fire destroyed a building and damaged a trailer Monday morning near Desert Hot Springs and the cause was being investigated, according to Cal Fire.
The fire was reported at 9:47 a.m. Sept. 23 in the 18900 block of Vee Bee Street, Mark Annas of Cal Fire-Riverside County said in a statement.
Six engine companies with 20 firefighters responded and they declared the fire contained at 10:35 a.m., Annas said.
"First arriving engine reported one structure fully involved with exposures to other structures," Annas said. "The fire destroyed an 800 square foot outbuilding and its contents, extended into fencing and damaged a utility trailer."
No injuries were reported, Annas said. Property destroyed was estimated at $20,000 and property saved was estimated at $50,000. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
