First Lady Jill Biden Scheduled In Riverside County This Weekend

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA—First lady Dr. Jill Biden will fly into Palm Springs this weekend as part of a series of Southern California appearances.

She is expected to land Saturday morning at Palm Springs International Airport before appearing as a headliner at an afternoon Democratic fundraiser at an undisclosed location in the Coachella Valley.

“First Lady Dr. Jill Biden’s visit to Palm Springs underscores the significance of Riverside County in supporting President Biden’s reelection efforts and the crucial need to regain control of the Congressional House seat contested by Will Rollins,” according to James Costos, the former U.S. ambassador to Spain under the Obama Administration. His statement was shared with The Desert Sun.

The news outlet reported that former U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, singer Barry Manilow, and Will Rollins, the Democratic candidate for California’s 41st Congressional District this year, will co-host the event.

According to Human Rights Campaign — the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer civil rights group — Biden will give a keynote address at the organization's annual Los Angeles dinner being held Saturday night at the Fairmount Century Plaza.

Biden is expected to attend an event Monday in Los Angeles as part of the new White House initiative on Women's Health Research that was announced March 18. The initiative aims to change how the country approaches and funds women’s health research.
