'Frankenstein' Showing Inaugurates Boris Karloff Month at Rancho Mirage Public Library.

The classic 1931 horror film "Frankenstein" will be shown Monday to inaugurate Boris Karloff Month at the Rancho Mirage Public Library.
The film, directed by James Whale, made Karloff a star and is still well regarded by critics. It will be shown at 2 p.m. Oct. 28 in the library's community room.
At 7 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 29, arts journalist Stacy Davies will interview Karloff's daughter Sara, and 1935 film "Bride of Frankenstein" will be shown afterward.
"The Mummy," made in 1932, will be shown at 2 p.m. Wednesday Pct. 30.
Additionally, Karloff memorabilia will be on display in the library's Annenberg Reading Room until the end of the month.
