Five Local Deals

We're all watching our family budgets these days. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us stretch our dollars.

This column will be dedicated to giving you five great local deals each week that will help your family’s bottom line, and since we do the scouting for you, you can save time as well as money.

1. 
   Deal: The offers tickets for $10 for adults, and $6 for children (normally $14.25 for adults, $7.75 for children).
   Good through: Year-round
2. Deal:IHOP offers 10 percent discount for seniors over 55.
   Good through: Year-round on the regular menu and not valid with other offers.
3. Palm Desert Public Art Tours
   Deal: The city offers free public art tours on the second Saturday of every month. Reservations are not required.
   Good through: September through June
4. Rancho Mirage Children's Discovery Museum
   Deal: The museum will offer free admission from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25.
   Good through: The last offering is March 18.
5. Deal: On Valentines Day, the salon will offer a hair cut and blow dry for $45 (regularly $80) or a shampoo and blow dry for $35 (normally $50). All proceeds benefit the Desert Symphony.
   Good through: Monday, Feb. 14
