COACHELLA, CA — An aggressive attack by firefighters limited a wildfire in Coachella from spreading beyond a small patch of vegetation and several palm trees Saturday.

The fire was reported at 9:15 a.m. in the 45900 block of Harrison Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

It burned a half acre of vegetation and 22 palm trees but "aggressive suppression efforts by firefighters" led to the blaze being contained in about 40 minutes, fire officials said.
