
A female hiker fell on the west side of the Bump and Grind Trail and a CHP helicopter crew assisted in her rescue Monday morning, according to Cal Fire.
The incident was reported at 7:52 a.m. Nov. 4 in the south Rancho Mirage area, Mark Annas of Cal Fire-Riverside County said in a statement.
A contingent of 15 firefighters responded, Annas said. The patient was transported off the trail by the crew of California Highway Patrol helicopter 60, transferred to a ground ambulance, then taken to an area hospital with moderate to major injuries.
An update on the unidentified hiker's condition was not available.
