Hiker Hoisted From Palm Desert Trail After Suffering Medical Emergency
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department Aviation Team subsequently responded to the scene and assisted with a helicopter.
PALM DESERT, CA — An elderly man in the midst of an unspecified medical emergency atop a Palm Desert hiking trail was rescued Thursday.
Fire crews responded around 10:50 a.m. to the top of the Bump and Grind Trail to a report of a man having a medical emergency, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department Aviation Team subsequently responded to the scene and assisted with a helicopter, which hoisted the man to paramedics waiting at the Palm Desert Fire Station 33, fire officials said.

The man was subsequently taken in stable condition to a hospital by ambulance, according to fire officials.
