Vehicle Rollover In Thousand Palms Reported

THOUSAND PALMS, CA — Emergency crews searched for possible victims in the crash of a vehicle that that flipped over on a secluded desert road before hitting a boulder, authorities said. However, no one was found.

Just before 11 a.m., a vehicle with its headlights on was discovered just off Thousand Palms Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

When emergency crews arrived on scene minutes later, they found a white vehicle with a "smashed front end and deployed air bags" with no one inside.

The vehicle hit a large boulder about 30 to 40 feet off the roadway between Ramon and Dillon Road in Thousand Palms, according to the CHP.

Crews searching for victims had not located anyone about an hour into the hunt.
