Intruder Tries To Abduct Juvenile from Coachella Valley Home

An intruder forced his way into a Coachella home early Wednesday morning, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Dept.

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA -- An intruder forced his way into a Coachella home and attempted to kidnap a juvenile early Wednesday morning, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's department.

Deputies were dispatched around 1:20 a.m. to the 53500 block of Cesar Chavez Street to investigate the incident. The unidentified suspect entered through a window and was wearing dark clothing, Riverside County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Vasquez said.

The juvenile was not harmed, authorities said.

The child's name, age and gender were not disclosed, nor did investigators release a description of the suspect. However, they are asking anyone with information about the attempted kidnapping to call (760) 863-8990.
