Kidnapping Call Leads To Domestic Violence Investigation In PS
A public plea was issued by the Palm Springs Police Department as officers searched for a victim.
PALM SPRINGS, CA — A victim has been found after Palm Springs police were called to a possible kidnapping incident that turned out to be a case of domestic violence.
The incident unfurled around 3 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of San Joaquin Drive. The Palm Springs Police Department said a female victim, approximately 16-20 years of age, "may have been taken" from the location "against her will."
A public plea was issued by the department as officers searched for a victim.

The suspect vehicle was described as a black compact sedan, possibly a 2009-2013 Toyota Corolla. A heavy-set Hispanic male drove the car, and the passenger was a male of unknown race wearing a ski mask, according to police.
About seven hours later, the police department reported that it located the suspect vehicle "and the presumed victim."

"After further investigation, it was determined that the incident was not an abduction but a domestic violence incident," police said.
The agency said it was now working to determine whether there were any "criminal violations."
