La Quinta Resort & Club has been recognized as one of the nation's best desert hotels and resorts.
In its September 2013 issue, the magazine Smart Meetings named La Quinta Resort & Club in the inaugural Smart Stars Awards. The awards celebrate "the best premier meetings hotels, resorts, cruise lines, event venues, and convention and conference centers in North America across 25 categories," according to Palm Springs tourism officials.

"As one of the original desert hideaways, the resort is located at the foot of the Santa Rosa Mountains in Southern California and has been refuge for many groups since 1926, featuring a charming village-like architecture. It has 535 fireplaces, 41 pools, 53 hot tubs, 23 tennis courts, seven restaurants and five golf courses, along with 190,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor event space."
Smart Meetings also recognized the Palm Springs Convention Center, Parker Palm Springs and Riviera Palm Springs in the magazine's inaugural Smart Stars Awards.
