Man Accused Of Assault With Deadly Weapon In RivCo
Witnesses reported hearing yelling and screaming along with some gunshots, officials said.

MESA VERDE, CA — A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon in Mesa Verde, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced Sunday.
Deputies responded to the 18000 block of Eureka Drive at around 11:45 p.m. Friday to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.
Witnesses reported hearing yelling and screaming from the location along with some gunshots, officials said.

Deputies found that 39-year-old Christopher Felix of Mesa Verde had been involved in a physical altercation with several neighbors, the department said. After the altercation, Felix allegedly retrieved a firearm from his residence and fired five to six shots, but no one was struck.
Deputies from the department's Colorado River station, along with officers from the California Highway Patrol and the Blythe Police Department, set up a perimeter around the residence, which Felix eventually exited as he surrendered.

Authorities served a search warrant at the location and allegedly found evidence of a firearm being discharged.
Felix was booked into the Blythe Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He was later released on a $25,000 bail, but was expected in court on Feb. 4, 2025.
