Man Convicted of Murder in 2011 Kidnapping, Shooting Death
Luis Raul Diaz was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Shane Ayala, who was reported missing from the Palm Springs area in September 2011.
A Coachella Valley resident was convicted Friday in the kidnap-murder of a 21-year-old man whose remains were found in Sky Valley a few months later.

Jurors also found true a special circumstance allegation of murder in the commission of a kidnapping. Diaz faces life in prison without the possibility of parole, with sentencing scheduled for Dec. 20.
