Man Shot Dead Inside Indio Apartment, Public's Help Sought
"We don't know what led to the incident. We don't have any suspect leads or clues at this time," an Indio Police Department spokesman said.

INDIO, CA — A man was found early Friday with multiple gunshot wounds at an Indio apartment, where he then died, prompting a homicide investigation as police searched for the killer.
Officers responded at 12:48 a.m. Friday to reports of gunshots heard at the Monte Azul Apartments, in the 82160 block of Dr. Carreon Boulevard, Indio Police Department public information officer Ben Guitron told City News Service.
"Officers were led to an apartment in the complex that, when upon entry, they found a male adult with gunshot wounds," Guitron said. "Indio (and) CalFire paramedics and fire staff were there and the victim passed away at the scene, which turned it into a homicide investigation."

People who heard the gunshots coming from that area led officers to the apartment where the man was found suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Guitron. Paramedics and firefighters immediately began to render aid, which was unsuccessful.
Detectives responded to the scene, assumed the investigation and called the Riverside County coroner's office, which took custody of the deceased to work on the investigation with detectives, according to Guitron. Throughout Friday morning, detectives continued the investigation interviewing people and looking into the apartment complex.
