Mechanics Bank Coming To Jensen’s Shopping Center​ on Highway 111

The financial institution is moving from its Cook Street location in Palm Desert into a newly constructed building on Highway 111.

PALM DESERT, CA — New construction in the Jensen’s Shopping Center on Highway 111 in Palm Desert will soon house a Mechanics Bank branch.

The financial institution is moving its current Palm Desert branch at 41990 Cook Street into the newly constructed building at 73-611 Highway 111.

The new opening is set for 9 a.m. March 4.

To accommodate the move, the Cook Street branch will suspend all operations (in-branch, ATM and night-depository services) at noon March 1. All operations will be restored at 9 a.m. March 4 at the new location. The Cook Street branch will shutter.

Mechanics Bank customers affected by the move were informed that their accounts and safe-deposit boxes will transfer automatically, according to the bank.

The new location will be staffed by the team of bankers from the Cook Street branch, and lobby hours will remain the same: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Twenty-four-hour ATM and night-depository services will also remain unchanged, according to the bank.

Convenient parking and proximity to retail businesses at the new Highway 111 location were cited by the bank as benefits of the move.

Founded in 1905, today Walnut Creek, Calif.-headquartered Mechanics Bank has 112 locations across California.
