PALM DESERT, CA — College of the Desert officials announced this week they will unveil a redesigned look for their campus mascot, Rodney the Roadrunner, during their Grad Fest.
The debut of Rodney's new look at Thursday's Grad Fest was described with bold colors and dynamic design elements.

Rodney was the campus' mascot since 2019 and the redesign stemmed through the EdSights platform launched in August 2024, where the most common question on the platform was "Who is our mascot?," according to college officials.
"This new mascot will enhance the sense of pride and belonging at College of the Desert," said Kaden Olson, ASCOD President. "We are excited to see how Rodney's role as a unifying symbols encourage even stronger connections among students, staff and the community."
