Motorcyclist Killed In Coachella Valley Crash ID'd By Coroner
The fatal crash occurred at North Gene Autry Trail and East Via Escuela.
PALM SPRINGS, CA — A 31-year-old motorcyclist who suffered fatal injuries in a crash with a vehicle at a Palm Springs intersection was identified by the coroner Tuesday as Caleb Goodrich of Auburn.
According to the Palm Springs Police Department, Goodrich was heading north on North Gene Autry Trail around 8 p.m. Sunday and collided with a vehicle that was heading in the opposite direction and making a left turn onto East Via Escuela.
Goodrich died at the scene, while the other driver, a 64-year-old Rancho Mirage resident, was taken to a local hospital with "moderate injuries," Palm Springs police said.

Investigators determined that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, which resulted in North Gene Autry Trail being closed overnight, reopening Monday morning, police said.
