One Killed In Shooting At Eisenhower Medical Center
The deputy-involved shooting happened Monday afternoon at the hospital, according to officials.

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA — One person was killed Monday in a deputy-involved shooting at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage.
Shots were reported at 4:55 p.m. in the 39000 block of Bob Hope Drive, where the hospital is located, Deputy Robyn Flores of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.
The sheriff's department later reported that a male was pronounced dead at the scene and that there was no threat to the public.

"No citizens or officers injured. Additional updates to follow," read a department tweet issued about 6:25 p.m.
The hospital's media coordinator, Lee Rice, said the shooting was an isolated incident and the campus was secured.

The public was warned to stay away from the area as the investigation progressed, Flores said.
The hospital's emergency room was not impacted by the active scene and remained open following the shooting, officials said.
