Palm Desert High athletic director Darol Salazar accepted the Commissioners Trophy for the Desert Valley League on Sept. 6, according to the Desert Sands Unified School District.
Each year the trophy goes to the school with the most points for league finishes, Palm Desert High principal Robert Hicks said.
"From Coachella to Palm Springs we are the winner this year," Hicks said in an email to Desert Sands District staff.
The Aztecs are scheduled to host Redlands at 7 p.m. Friday Sept. 20 in a home varsity football game. Palm Desert High is at 74910 Aztec Road.
