Art Museum Hosts Community Earth Day Celebrations In Palm Desert
On Apr. 22, residents are invited to celebrate Earth Day with art projects, live music, and much more to help us celebrate the Earth.

From Palm Springs Art Museum: Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert, The Galen, will host a FREE, community-wide Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden.
Sponsored by Babe’s Bar-B-Que & Brewhouse, Whole Foods Market Palm Desert, The Coeta and Donald Barker Foundation, Frankinbun, and Tea with Iris, attendees will be able to participate in art projects, watch live demonstrations, sample delicious food and beverages, and enjoy live music. The community is also invited to take home compost, courtesy of Whole Market Palm Desert.
“Earth Day is a chance to reflect on our shared humanity and discover ways to live in harmony with the world around us,” said Leonardo Bravo, Palm Springs Art Museum Director of Education and Public Programs. “The entire community is invited to attend the Museum’s free celebration at The Galen, which will include engaging activities, performances and demonstrations.”

11 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

- Flower Power Selfie Station
- Refreshment booth – Water and Lemonade
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
- Artmaking activities: Native Seed Bombs and Say it With Seeds
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:
- Artist demonstration: Tea with Iris native plant prints
Noon to 2 p.m.:
- Hot Dog cart from Frankinbun Sausages
- Craft Beer from Babe’s Bar-B-Que & Brewhouse (available for purchase)
12:30 to 2:30 p.m.:
- Live musical performance by New Orleans jazz artist David Harris
1 to 2 p.m.:
- ArtTalk with high desert conceptual artist Cathy Allen
