The announcement came Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The Palm Springs Cruisin’ Association (PSCA) has announced its dates for its 2016-2017 Cruise-In car show series. Starting October 1 and running through May on the first Saturday of each month from 1 to 5 p.m., over 150 cars will be on display in the parking lot at Westfield Palm Desert (in the northwest parking lot near Macy’s and Red Carpet Car Wash).

The exhibitions will feature classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, street rods, corvettes, customs, antiques, restored and original collectible cars and motorcycles. The monthly event also features food, drink and clothing vendors, as well as raffles and prizes given to the top cars. Fun for the entire family, there is a special area for kids with coloring, hula hoop contests and other activities.

Along with the Cruise-In Series, the Palm Springs Cruisin’ Association hosts the popular Dr. George Car Show in February. In 2016 the car show raised a record-breaking $80,000 for Desert Cancer Foundation (DCF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting residents in the Coachella Valley and surrounding communities who need financial assistance in obtaining screening, diagnosis and treatment for cancer and allied diseases. Over the past 14 years, the PSCA has donated over $688,000 to DCF.
