PALM SPRINGS, CA — A mile-long stretch of North Indian Canyon Drive in Palm Springs was reopened Saturday following an overnight closure due to blowing dust that impacted traffic.

High winds whipped up a sandstorm that dramatically reduced visibility about mid-afternoon Friday, prompting police to shut down Indian Canyon between Palm Springs Station Road and Sunrise Parkway, just south of Interstate 10.
