Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Coachella

COACHELLA, CA — A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday night in Coachella was identified by the coroner as a local man.

Robert Villa, 37, of Coachella was pronounced dead at the scene — Gateway Center and Grapefruit Boulevard — at 10:50 p.m., according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau. He was struck just minutes before, according to the agency.

The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene. No arrests were announced.
