Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Indian Wells

INDIAN WELLS, CA — A man was struck and killed by a vehicle this morning in Indian Wells, shutting down a stretch of Highway 111.

The pedestrian death was reported just after 5:15 a.m. near Highway 111 and Desert Horizons Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The driver remained at the scene, cooperated with authorities and did not appear to be impaired, sheriff's officials said.

Highway 111 between Cook Street and El Dorado Drive was closed for the death investigation.
