RivCo Gears Up For Rodeo On The Last Week Of The Date Festival

To celebrate the annual date harvest, try 40 different date treats, catch the final weekend rodeo, a Carrie Underwood tribute and more.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Shine up those belt buckles, RivCo — the rodeo is coming to town.

After two busy weekends, the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival is ending on Sunday, March 2. But before it does, the PRCA rodeo show will headline on Friday and Saturday.

The festival mainstay is one of the most anticipated acts of the weeks-long event. On both Friday and Saturday, the rodeo will kick off at 6:30 p.m.

Then, on Sunday, the festival will go out with a country bang with tribute performances to Carrie Underwood and Toby Keith.

“If you haven’t had the chance to experience this fantastic event yet, you’re missing out," Riverside County Board Chair and Fourth District Supervisor V. Manuel Perez said in a statement. "This festival is a true celebration of our community’s culture and spirit, and there’s still time to create lasting memories with loved ones before it ends."

Each year, the festival draws some 250,000 people, organizers said.

Hosted by Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, the fest celebrates the annual date harvest and presents guests with at least 40 different treats made with the fruit, which comes from a date palm tree.

Admission for adult presale to the festival is $12, kids presale is $10 and senior presale is $11. Carnival wristbands for unlimited rides are $32. Parking is $10. Check out more pricing here.

This weekend, the festival opens on Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday at 10 a.m.
