RivCo LGBTQ Champion, Nightlife Entrepreneur To Get A Star In Palm Springs
Mark Hunter Seymor's Palm Springs nightclub became one of the city's first gay-owned and operated full-service hubs for the community.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — Palm Springs is gearing up to honor longtime LGBTQ+ community leader and entrepreneur Mark Hunter Seymour with the 481st star on the Palm Springs Walk of the Stars next month.
Seymour, who founded the well-known Hunters Nightclubs in Chicago, Palm Springs, and Wilton Manors, will receive his star in the categories of Entertainment and Civic/Pioneer during a public ceremony at 302 E Arenas Road on Friday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m., the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce announced.
Since its inception in 1992, the Palm Springs Walk of the Stars has recognized more than 480 individuals who have shaped the city’s cultural and civic identity. Seymour joins a list of entertainers and civic pioneers whose work has helped define Palm Springs’ inclusive and creative spirit

Seymour opened Hunters Chicago in 1982, followed by Hunters Palm Springs in 1998 and Hunters Wilton Manors in 2013. His Palm Springs venue was among the city’s first gay-owned and operated full-service nightclubs, providing an inclusive space that continues to be a cornerstone of the local LGBTQ+ community, according to the release.
Over nearly three decades, Hunters Palm Springs has supported organizations including The LGBTQ Center of the Desert, Desert AIDS Project, AIDS Assistance Program, and the Palm Springs Animal Shelter.

Throughout his career, Seymour has received multiple awards recognizing his advocacy and philanthropy, including the Steve Chase Humanitarian Award (2002), Businessman of the Year from the Desert Business Association, and the Diversity Honors Award (2024). In 2015, he was also named one of the Community Grand Marshals for the Palm Springs Pride Parade.
