PALM DESERT, CA — More than a dozen homes were evacuated Monday after a contractor struck a gas line in Palm Desert.
The gas leak was reported at 9:14 a.m. in the 78000 block of Silver Lake Terrace, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The ruptured gas line forced the evacuation of 13 nearby homes, affecting 15 residents, fire officials said.
