Scare At Palm Springs International Airport: Details Released

​Due to the incident, flights were temporarily halted.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — A person managed to bypass TSA security screening Thursday at Palm Springs International Airport, leading to a temporary shutdown of flights.

The breach, which occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m., led to airport authorities clearing out the secure side of the terminal and exiting everyone inside, as well as halting all flights, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.

A search was conducted and the individual was "apprehended," police said.

By 6:30 p.m., the all-clear was given. Normal airport operations resumed but all passengers who had previously cleared security were required to get rescreened, police said.

Due to the incident, flight delays were reported.
