Palm Desert Mall Shooting: 2 Suspects Arrested
The shooting investigation was underway in the parking lot of The Shops in Palm Desert.

PALM DESERT, CA — Two suspects were in custody Thursday following a shooting between a pair of vehicles in the parking lot of The Shops in Palm Desert.
Deputes responded around 2 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 72- 800 block of Highway 111, Riverside County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Deirdre Vickers told City News Service.
"The investigation revealed there was an exchange of gunfire between two vehicles in the parking lot," Vickers told CNS. "One of the stores in the mall was temporarily locked down for precautionary measures."

The department's Palm Desert Station alerted the public around 2:30 p.m. Thursday that the shooting occurred in the south parking lot of the mall.
Around 3:30 p.m., Vickers told CNS that two suspects were in custody. She did not provide any details about the suspects or whether anyone was struck by gunfire, nor whether any weapons were recovered.
