Single Story Home Ignites In Coachella Valley

COACHELLA, CA — A single-story home caught fire Tuesday morning, causing residents to flee the structure.

Shortly after 9 a.m., Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters raced to the burning home at the 52100 block of Morgan Avenue, according to the department. Firefighters arrived at the actively burning residence, where "heavy smoke was coming from the side of the residence," Maggie Cline De La Rosa, spokesperson for that agency, told Patch.

"The home was fully involved in flames, according to firefighters at the scene, and the fire was fully contained shortly before 10 a.m.," she said. "No firefighters or residents were injured as a result of the incident."

Firefighters were expected to remain on scene until around 1 p.m. to conduct mop-up operations.

No assistance from the Red Cross was sought immediately, and no further information was available.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, as it is currently under investigation, according to this report.
