Sprouts Farmers Market Opening In Indian Wells

INDIAN WELLS, CA — Sprouts Farmers Market will open its newest Coachella Valley store this month.

The store located at 74895 US Highway 111 in Indian Wells will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:45 a.m. Oct. 13 followed by a 7 a.m. grand opening.

"We are incredibly excited to welcome Sprouts Farmers Market to Indian Wells,” said the city Mayor Donna Griffith. “In addition to providing fresh, healthy and specialty foods to our residents, Sprouts will also bring 100 jobs to our city, playing a vital role in our vision of continuing to assure the exceptional quality of life for our residents and providing a beautiful shopping experience for them as well as our neighboring communities."

Known for its open layout with produce at the heart of its grocery stores, Phoenix-based Sprouts operates nearly 400 locations in 23 states nationwide. The Indian Wells store is just the second in Coachella Valley. A Sprouts is also located at 79050 Highway 111 in La Quinta.

The Indian Wells store will feature events and giveaways during its grand opening weekend:

From Friday, Oct. 13, through Sunday, Oct. 15, a “pop-up party” in front of the store will give guests the chance to taste seasonal produce from a tasting bar, play games, have their faces painted, watch artists carve large produce, participate in a “guess the weight” contest of an oversized piece of produce and more. The activities will last all weekend.

The first 200 shoppers on Friday and Saturday will receive a free "Goodness it’s Free" reusable goodie bag filled with "special products."

Beginning at noon on Sunday, dog lovers will be gifted dog treats from Bundle X Joy and kids will receive a reusable coloring tote activity, while supplies last. There will also be music throughout the weekend.

In anticipation of the opening, shoppers will have the chance to win a $500 Sprouts gift card until midnight Oct. 15 when they sign up via the website. Additionally, customers who text “WELLS” to 777-688 will receive 20% off their purchase over the grand opening weekend when they scan their app account barcode at checkout; up to two redemptions per Sprouts account per day. Shoppers can also view Sprouts’ weekly ad and save with digital coupons available on the Sprouts website.

Through Sprouts’ Food Rescue program, the Indian Wells store will donate groceries that are no longer fit for sale but remain perfectly edible to FIND Food Bank, a local organization that provides food to families and individuals at risk of hunger.
