Tanker Truck Leaks Waste Grease at Avenue 82 and 86 Expressway

A tanker truck leaked waste grease Monday morning at Avenue 82 and the 86 Expressway in the Oasis area, prompting temporary road closures, according to Cal Fire and the California Highway Patrol.

The leaking truck was reported at 8:19 a.m. Sept. 23, according to the CHP.

County hazardous materials personnel and firefighters contained the leak and reported it stopped as of 9:45 a.m., Mark Annas of Cal Fire-Riverside County said.

The road was open as of 2:45 p.m. but Caltrans personnel remained on scene, a CHP dispatcher in Indio said in a phone interview.
