Vegetation Fire Erupts In Coachella Valley

THERMAL, CA -- A vegetation fire broke out Monday morning in the Coachella Valley. The fire was reported at 7:23 a.m. near Highway 86 expressway and Avenue 70 in Thermal, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The fire was roughly 14 acres with the forward spread stopped at 11 a.m., officials said.

Roughly 30 firefighters, nine engines and one overhead personnel were called to the scene.
