Woman Suspected In La Quinta Mail Thefts
Chila Espinoza, 31, of Coachella is suspecting in a series of thefts, according to the sheriff's department.

LA QUINTA, CA — A 31-year-old woman suspected in a series of mail thefts in La Quinta was behind bars Tuesday.
Chila Espinoza of Coachella was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of several mail theft incidents, according to Sgt. Jamie Lewis of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Lewis said deputies from the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team served a search warrant in connection to a series of mail thefts Friday in the 53000 block of Avenida Villa.

Multiple pieces of stolen mail were allegedly found during the service of the search warrant and Espinoza was subsequently arrested, Lewis said. She was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, where she remained held on $100,000 bail.
"Additional charges will be sought pending further investigation into the stolen property," Lewis said in a statement.
