📰 Here are the top stories today in Palm Springs:

  1. If you’re a client of the AZ Spa in the 74000 block of Alessandro Drive – it is no more. It turns out the venue was a brothel operated by two women. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department placed them under arrest after receiving “unspecified complaints about the location since last year.” (NBC)
  2. Was it “standard protocol” at Devon Storage Self-Storage to place rodent bait boxes in front of units? Wanting to prevent others from experiencing the same misfortune, a couple whose stored items were destroyed by rats offers advice. Have insurance and know what it covers; choose your self-storage facility carefully and read through your contract line by line. (KESQ)
  3. Did the Coachella Valley Firebirds bring us together? While fans were disappointed by Wednesday’s game at the Acrisure Arena, insiders say the team succeeded in making “diehard fans out of people who had never cared about hockey six months ago.” Part of the credit goes to the presenters, who know how to get a crowd to its feet with pyrotechnics and John Denver tunes. (The Palm Springs Post)
  4. Mark your calendar! The Margaritaville Resort will host the inaugural Equality Wine Fest on July 1. Experience “LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and Women owned, managed, and/or produced wines.” Besides wine, enjoy vendors, food, live music, and demonstrations. The star-studded event features Jim Obergefell, Betty Berrysmith, and Celebrity Chef André. (Equality Wine Fest)
  5. Go stargazing tonight! Volunteers from the Friends of the Desert Mountains are bringing telescopes to the Art Smith Trailhead Parking Lot 51500 on Saturday around 8:45 p.m. Everyone’s invited to stop by and look through their telescopes. (Patch)
