📰 Here are the top stories in Palm Springs today:

  1. The police arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with several south Palm Springs burglaries. The arrest occurred Tuesday at midnight close to South Civic Drive during a traffic stop. During a vehicle search, officers found “a semi-automatic handgun, ammunition, and unspecified tools.” (NBC)
  2. A driver’s blind spot contributed to a rollover crash near Windy Cove on Highway 111. When trying to pass, a motorist “collided with another vehicle in his blind spot.” Reportedly, he over-compensated, launched over the guardrail, and fell “25-30 feet onto the side of the freeway below.” (KESQ)
  3. Were you on that October flight from Palm Springs to Las Vegas when a passenger got handsy with the flight attendants? Reportedly, the man claimed he needed the attendants to kiss him because he would have a panic attack. The FBI decided to file “one count of simple assault” on Friday. (KTLA)
  4. The Splash House August lineup is out, and tickets go on sale Friday. Look forward to DJ Minx, Lucati, and Franky Rizardo – among many others. The event runs from Aug. 11 to 13. As usual, the event takes place at several resorts; there is also an After Hours series. (Splash House)
  5. Palm Springs now has a new ride-share option: LGBTQ+ ride. The service is designed to “create a platform free of discrimination and foster a friendly environment for passengers and drivers alike.” Targeted customers are members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies. (News Channel 3)
