📰 Here are the top stories in Palm Springs today:
- Catalytic converter thieves have a new favorite: the Toyota pickup truck. It’s a change from October, when the crooks targeted the Toyota Prius. If you’ve already been a victim of catalytic converter theft, you know it costs about $4,000 to replace. The Police Department warns neighbors to have their VINs etched onto the converter or install a metal bracket, making it difficult to get the part off. (KESQ)
- If you love the SunRide, we have some good news! This month, the SunLine Transit Agency is expanding into Cathedral City and Desert Hot Springs. However, the bus driver shortage is also affecting the SunRide. Expect changes to routes 1WV going through downtown and Route 2. (Desert Sun)
- The Palm Springs Vintage Market ended its season on Sunday. You know it as the place where you can find creative artwork and where uniqueness is common. Of course, with the summer months ahead of us, the Camelot Theatre parking lot will remain empty until the first Sunday of October — when the Market returns. (NBC)
- Tourists love Palm Springs. After tallying the tourist industry numbers, Visit Greater Palm Springs (VGPS) revealed that it generated $7.1 billion in 2022. Across the area, it means that visitors spent $19 million each day, keeping each household from having to chip in an extra $5,000 in taxes. (Uken Report)
- The LGBTQ+ music festival, the White Party, starts on Friday and will run until Monday morning. Head to the Hilton and the Convention Center to participate. Reportedly, this year’s festivities will be “a more modern and innovative experience” that includes pool parties and drag performances. Saturday’s winter wonderland theme is likely going to be a favorite. (My News LA)

If you're looking for a kitten, stay tuned! We will let you know as they become available for adoption. If you aren't able to adopt, you can still support the kittens by donating the supplies our wonderful foster parents need as they nurture these little ones. Head over to the link in our bio to be directed to our kitten wish list. Thank you!" (Palm Springs Animal Shelter)
