Here are the top 3 stories today in Palm Springs:

  1. Residents and workers in Palm Desert can attend the Palm Springs Air Museum free of charge on May 6, in celebration of Palm Desert Day. The museum, which is located at 745 N. Gene Autry Trail, features over 70 aircraft, including the F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Bomber, and is recognized as one of the top aviation museums in the world by CNN Travel. On Saturdays, the museum hosts "Open Cockpit" days, during which guests can sit at the controls of a selected aircraft and take pictures for a suggested $5 donation. To receive free admission, visitors must present proof of Palm Desert residency or employment. (Palm Desert)
  2. Southern California singer and actress Becky G was honored with a key to the City of Coachella in addition to her performance at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival. The multi-platinum, award-winning artist is known for her efforts in representing and connecting with her community. The Inglewood native says the honor of receiving the key to the city stands for much more than just herself, and that it is a representation of the heart, passion, and work of her community. Fans of the artist expressed their appreciation for her good influence and positive vibes within their community. The award will be placed inside Coachella's City Hall for years to come. (NBC Palm Springs)
  3. The David H. Ready Palm Springs Dog Park behind City Hall will temporarily close for sod installation today, Apr. 24, through Sunday, Jun. 4. The Demuth Dog Park will remain open seven days a week from daybreak until dusk during the closure. Residents with questions can email dogpark@palmspringsca.gov for more information about the temporary closure of the David H. Ready Palm Springs Dog Park. (City of Palm Springs)
