- Miguel Hernandez Toscano, 65, is set to stand trial for the stabbing death of 48-year-old Ernestina Oropeza. Toscano also faces two counts of felony willful child cruelty and one misdemeanor count of willful cruelty to a child in addition to the murder charge. The next post-preliminary hearing arraignment is set for Mar. 27. (News Channel 3)
- A woman was rescued by firefighters after suffering injury from a fall near the Hidden Valley Hiking Trail near the Living Desert. The woman was not easily accessible for rescue, but crews were eventually able to reach her. She was transported to a hospital and is reportedly in stable condition. (Desert Sun)
- Adrian Alcantar, the owner of Adrian Alcantar Hair Studio and Spa, is claiming that Operation Relentless Sun is not helping the area's homeless problem and causing harm to his business and others. Operation Relentless Sun is the new program created by Palm Springs Police aimed at reducing homelessness. Alcantar states that the program is breaking up homeless camps and contributing to an influx of homeless traffic near local businesses, leading to dangerous encounters for his employees. (News Channel 3)
