• Desert Regional nurses gather for candlelight vigil as contract negotiations continue (kesq.com) — Nurses at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs held a candlelight vigil as contract talks with Tenet Healthcare continue, pressing for safer staffing and guaranteed breaks. Union leaders say they’re focused on working conditions and patient safety, while hospital officials insist facilities are already properly staffed and negotiations are ongoing. The event also included a food drive supporting homeless outreach program The Path.
   

• Looking back at Impact Grants in 2025 (kesq.com) — Several Coachella Valley nonprofits, including one that shuttles service members between Twentynine Palms and Palm Springs Airport, shared more than $186,000 in 2025 Impact Grants. The funding supported homeless seniors, children’s medical care, addiction recovery, neurological rehab through music, and expanded services in Mecca and Desert Hot Springs. Organizers say the program will continue helping local residents in 2026.
