98th Annual May Fete Children's Parade Set For Palo Alto Next Weekend

PALO ALTO, CA — Palo Alto will host the 98th annual May Fete Children’s Parade on May 7.

The festival, one of Palo Alto’s major events, features a parade down University Avenue with kids walking by with homemade floats, riding bikes or walking their pets. There will also be bands, youth groups, cars, vehicles and other entertainers.

The parade will start at University Avenue and Emerson Street before turning on to Waverly Street and ending at Heritage Park.

Floats will be judged to win prizes, with first place winning $500, second place taking home $250 and third place $125.

This year’s theme is “What emPOWERS you,” focusing on the resilience of Palo Alto’s youth and sustainability.

The parade will be followed by a fair at Heritage Park, featuring music by local school bands, booths with community organizations and food trucks.
