Cooling Center In Palo Alto To Open During Heatwave

The cooling center will be located at the Mitchell Park Community Center, which is located at 3700 Middlefield Rd.

PALO ALTO, CA — The Palo Alto community cooling center is opening its doors again this weekend and early next week, Sept. 27 and Sept. 28, to provide a much-needed relief from the high temperatures that are expected to affect Palo Alto and much of the Bay Area.

According to the National Weather Service, the forecast calls for sunny skies with a high near 86 degrees Sunday in Palo Alto. On Monday, sunny skies will continue with a high near 90 degrees.

The cooling center will be located at the Mitchell Park Community Center in the El Palo Alto Room. The building is located at 3700 Middlefield Rd.

Its hours of operation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
