Knife-Wielding Man Robs Palo Alto 7-Eleven: Police

Police said an unidentified man threatened a clerk with a knife, demanded cash, and stole a box of cigars from the convenience store.

PALO ALTO, CA — Detectives in Palo Alto are searching for a masked man with a knife who robbed a Midtown 7-Eleven early Friday.

Police said a clerk called 911 a few minutes before 12:30 a.m. from the convenience store on Colorado Avenue. The clerk told officers a man approached him and took out a knife, demanding cash from the register and reaching over the counter to steal an open box of cigars before fleeing the store and running westbound out of the parking lot.

The clerk said the robber was a man between 25 and 30, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a face mask. Police shared a surveillance image showing a hooded man in the store and asked anyone with information that could help identify him to call dispatch at 650-329-2413.
