Palo Alto Police Steps Up Patrols, Staffing For Holiday Season

Police said they are working closely with retail centers, small businesses and regional law enforcement.

PALO ALTO, CA — The Palo Alto Police Department said it is adding additional staffing and stepping up patrols in retail shopping areas in the wake of recent shoplifting and burglary incidents during the holiday season.

The most recent incident on Nov. 24 involved a group of 30 to 40 suspects who attempted to break into The RealReal.

Police offered a few tips, including to not leave purchases unattended to in cars and carrying handbags close to the body.
